This is a large, practical property that works because its moving parts are easy to understand. The public spaces feel built for families, teams, conference guests and evening visitors without collapsing into chaos.
At night, the hotel carries a sociable hum, while service remains noticeably present. That combination made it feel more accommodating than a simple roadside overnight.
My son and I stayed here for a sports tournament the staff were so helpful getting us settled in so we could just focus on Lacrosse. The pool kept the kids busy and out of the halls in between games and in the evening so that those that needed to rest could. Would definitely stay here again.
Went to the Wild Horse Pud before a concert event, greated right away and our server was great, attentive, engaging. Food was alright, chalking it up to being very busy, but steak sandwich came out Luke warm and under cooked, soggy onion rings, could have sent back but very busy. All in all not a bad experience just should have made a better choice ordering when that busy I guess
Mixed reviews... The rooms are alright however they do not have a microwave to reheat food, which was disappointing. Our biggest upset were the hot tubs. During our 3 night stay they were rarely open in the evening. One evening, after checking during the day and seeing it was operating, we got ready and went down and they were again closed! Very frustrating. The staff were incredible though! Every person we interacted with her helpful and friendly. Each time we walked past the front desk and they were not helping someone, we were greeted.
The casino is excellent, and the table workers are all very good here. Very friendly and most know the book or close to it for each game. Table mins are all 5$ which is great. Craps is open daily till 12am which is very nice. Wish they had one or two more dealers sometimes on for UTH and maybe some newer slots such as monopoly, kong or werewolf. Favorite casino to play tables though.
We went here for food and drinks. We didn't stay here. Prime rib buffet was great and a great deal. Service at the eateries was outstanding and bar service was great.
Came to DIC for a conference, the conference spaces were nice and very clean, the staff were excellent- prompt, helpful, professional, and the food was delicious. Unfortunately I did not experience the casino or hotel spaces but I assume they’re fine.
The welcome was prompt and helpful, with the kind of direct guidance that matters in a building of this scale. One small annoyance is that amenity availability can affect a plan, so it is worth confirming the detail that matters to you.
Evening offers plenty of choice without asking guests to leave the property. I would come back for a similarly self-contained Calgary stay.

A prompt, practical welcome gets the stay moving.
Think of the property as a small indoor district: plan a few minutes to move between room, pool, conference spaces and evening venues. The benefit is that everything is close once you have the rhythm.

The most persuasive thing was not a single feature but how comfortably different types of guests can share the building: tournament families, conference visitors and an evening crowd all seem to have a place.
